Preamble

 
The primary objective of Gujarat Technological University (GTU), established vide State Act(20/2007), is to develop the knowledge of science, engineering, technology, management and environment for the advancement of quality of life in general in relation to the domain of engineering and technological development and applications. The GTU has won "ICT enabled University of the year in E India 2009" and "Manthan Award South Asia'09" for its project Gujarat Common Entrance Test (GCET-2009), taking into consideration its innovative endeavor for the benefit of higher education besides being the first of its kind in India that conducted entrance test on-line at a State (Govt.) level. The project used cutting edge technology and offered innovative method to introduce online application.
 
The objective of Research Fair-2011 (RPF-2011), organised by Gujarat Technological University, in association with L.D.College of Engineering, Ahmedabad and Vishwakarma Government Engineering College, Chandkheda, Gandhinagar, is to bring researchers, scientists, engineers, and scholar students together to exchange and share their experiences, new ideas, and research results in all areas of engineering and identify with the practical challenges encountered and the solutions adopted through presentation and discussion of papers. The conference intends to encourage inventions, scientific investigations and research to promote their application for development in all sectors of national economy. In addition, RPF-2011 aims to serve as a platform to promote the exchange of ideas between industry and academia to equip them with the capability to meet with the emerging challenges and changing requirements in the context of globalization and privatization.
